What Causes Persistent Fever Despite Taking Paracetamol?

doctor i got up and down in fever from last one week till now i met a doctor he suggest urine test blood test etc all are normal and USG shows 4-5 mm kidney stone the doctor advised me to take fever medicine like paracetamol and nothing but how long i should take this there is no change in my fever it is in same condition up and down in a day i consume lot of water that relaxed me from fever please tell me what is going wrong with me i am totally fed up now

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have gone through the details given. It would have been better if you had mentioned what blood tests were done and what were the results. Because one of the reasons for fever not totally going away could be enteric fever. So I want to know if Widal test was done? Plus have been given any antibiotics to control infection that might be the cause of the fever?
My suggestions are you may need to take a course of antibiotics like Cefixime 200 to 400 mg twice a day for 6 to 8 days, plus ORS about a liter per day. Paracetamol may be taken 3 to 4 times a day (500 mg or 650 mg).Also get a fasting and PP blood glucose test done. For urinary stones, drink plenty of water so that smaller ones will get flushed out. Thanks.
