What Causes Persistent Fever When Diagnosed With Lymphadenopathy?
Sir,I am male , I am having fever for almost 21 days and i sonographed and found to have lymphadenopathy multiple enlarged mesentric lypmh node one of which is about 25×18 mm in size and so doctor advised me to done with CT scane . For Doctor prescribed me Dolo 650 which is reducing my fever but still after 10 to 11 hours it backs, along with this i am taking other medicines also for 1 week ... my ESR is 53 , WBC is normal ,no HIV,No malaria or dengue . .. so what i do then , is it serious ?
Hi there! As to Dolo 650 ,yes you need to take 2 to 3 tablets a day to keep fever away and even that may b insufficient sometimes. your Lymphadenopathy certainly needs to be addressed. It could be caused by a long standing infection like Tuberculosis especially if you're from a developing country or more serious cause like Connective tissue disorder or something else about which I'm not going to scare you. Sooner you find a cause the better. CT scan is advisable and once done you'll need to undergo a needle aspiration and study or a lymph node resection and biopsy. You MUST NOT IGNORE THIS! Let's not jump to conclusions till you get the tests done. ESR being high could happen from a lot of conditions. White Cell morphology matters not just the number. Hope this was helpful.
