What Causes Persistent Groaning In A Person While On Quetiapine And Donamem?

Hi, My Mother is having alzheimers and Vascular dementia both, she is 65 years old, she is taking donemem, qutiapine 25mg day and night, clonazepan in morning, strocit, ecosprin in afternoon, rest blood pressure tablets. Earlier she was having short term memory loss now after starting these drugs her recollecting old past is also getting dimmer and she is groaning from morning to evening and will say she will hit her head, she will become mad, she is not at all feeling good, need urgent medical treeatment, shown many doctors but not getting proper help to get relief instantly in such scenario.

I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, your mother is dealing with psychosis.
Making groaning sound, having wish to harm herself, feeling mad etc are more suggestive of acute psychosis.
And acute psychosis is common in alziemer's disease.
So better to take her to psychiatrist and start antipsychotic drugs.
Haloperidol, quetipine etc are advisable for acute symptoms.
