What Causes Persistent Headache And Minor Concussion?

I am concerned that I suffered a minor concussion yesterday at about 11:30am. I do not have a gentle cycle, if I hit something - I gen hit it hard. I hit my head on the hinge side of my car door while loading yesterday. I may have been momentarily stunned, not sure. I called my PCP today for counsel, they advised that I rest/ice & call back this afternoon to update. I told them that I thought that I was improving, they suggested that I confirm or visit in the morning. I have an appointment scheduled. My immediate concern is that my headache is still present 36 hours later. Thank you!

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello,

It is normal for some headache to still be present. Headache after concussion may persist for days and weeks. There is also the local soreness which may take 1-2 weeks to subside. The important thing is that the headache doesn't increase in intensity and that there aren't other manifestations like vomiting, seizures or neurological deficits. So for the moment I see no reason for worry and would back the given recommendations.

Hope I have answered your query.
