What Causes Persistent Headache On Left Side?

Left side constant headache, 10 days duration. Worsens when bending down or straining. Local GP examination found no impairments of any kind, ie, normal eye tracking and pupil response, no loss of movement, no loss of speech, no cognitive problems, No nausea, no numbness, Age over 50. Local Doctor recommends waiting until 3 weeks duration before referring to another doctor for further examination.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you persistent headache on left side. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like Migraines alcohol, diet, stress, loud sounds, smells and many other triggers can cause a migraine to occur . It can also occur due to conditions like sinusitis and aneurysm . I would suggest you to consult neurologist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order CT scan or MRI to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe medicines like vasograine , betablockers , diuretics and may refer you to ENT specialist for sinusitis.
