Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Headache Throughout The Day?
I have had a headache for 4 days now, it s pretty bad, it gets worse, especially as the day goes on. And it causes me to have a very hard time sleeping at night, and wakes me up several times throughout the night as well. I ve also had a cold for over a week, but that s getting better and now the headache is getting worse. I thought it was a sinus infection but almost all cold symptoms are gone and the headache remains, bad. What could it be?
The symptoms can be related to sinusitis which is an infection of the sinuses. I suggest to use a saline nasal spray to relieve the mucus which is accumulated in the sinuses. I recommend to use anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the headache. If the symptoms continue, you may need an antibiotic treatment to treat the infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
