What Causes Persistent Headache With Pain Behind The Eyes?

i fell off a bar stool on friday night/saturday morning and hit my head pretty bad there was a lot of blood. i went to hospital on sunday and they did an xray and said there was no breaks but i dont know if they checked to see if there was any internal damage, i have a very bad headache all day long, very bad pain behind both my eyes and i can not stand to be in the light for too long as it makes the pain worse and i need to lie down a lot. what could this be?

Hello dear,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have made the following clinical explanation-
Apparently you had an injury which though was not associated with any loss or clouding of consciousness,but still,it was not a mild one as it was left with a bleeding head.Severe headache since then with retro-orbital pain along a probable photophobia(headache increases on exposure to light) that you are having,needs to be evaluated by a brain imaging like computerised tomographic(CT) scan and evaluated by an ophthalmologist for papilledema or raised intracranial pressure.It is always crucial in a case of head injury to exclude any secondary cause of headache,especially if the head injury is not a clinically mild one.I hope it helps.
