What Causes Persistent Headache, pain In Calf And Shortness In Breath?
Hi, I have been sick but have been hospitalized 2x in the past for PE. I am on Warfarin and just had my INR tested today and it came back at 124. (I should be 2.5) I have had a headache for about a week straight, my left calf is extremely tender to the touch (not hot), I am slightly out of breath after doing daily activities and my chest and back ache. I don t want to go to the ER unless there is a real concern. I don t have a way to test my O2 levels. I have had the flu....perhaps I m still just sick?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent headache, pain in calf and shortness in breath . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like peripheral neuropathy , injury , gout , soft tissue injury or venous insufficiency .
Doctor may recommend orthotic devices like special shoe . You should reduce your weight .I would suggest you to consult podiatrist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan or x-ray along with blood test and urine test and physical examination to confirm the diagnosis .
Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon for foot problem , who may prescribe diuretic along with muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory . Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist . For now avoid doing any activities that causes pain - ICE COMPRESSION over the painful area once in 2-3 hours - Elevate your leg on a cushion or a pillow while you are lying or sitting down - Use analgesic anti-inflammatory medications like Advil or Aleve to reduce the pain and inflammation.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
