General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Severe headaches with neck pain can be due to various reasons. There are different types of headaches and each vary with different causes. Is there any accident that you met with? Doxycycline is not an effective medication for severe headache. Have you consulted your doctor before taking it? If not, I suggest not to take it without consulting a doctor. If yes, was it prescribed for any other reason?

I suggest you get your eye sight and blood pressure checked. Along with that consult a neurologist, who will be able to assess your overall condition and take note of medical and family history while making a diagnosis. The neurologist might advice for a CT scan head, for better understanding of your condition. Depending on the cause, you will be guided with appropriate management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
