What Causes Persistent Headaches In The Mornings?

My husband, age 80, is in general overall good health. In recent weeks he was waken with a headache. Wondering if it was alcohol related, he stopped imbibing in an evening cocktail yet it doesn t seem to matter. He will still have a headache. It is not so bad to keep him from daily activity, but since this seem habitual lately we wondered if this is symptomatic of something else.

Hello,

The symptoms can be related to migraine headaches. I recommend to use a painkiller such as Ibuprofen to relieve the headache. A coffee in the morning can also be helpful. If the symptoms continue, you should consult a neurologist for further evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
