What Causes Persistent Heart Palpitations And Skipped Beats?

I have a problem with extra heart beats and skipping beats. It may last for hours or sometimes days like now. I have had two bouts of A-Fib but this is not A-Fib. I have a stent in the LAD, but other then that no known heart problems. I have had 5 heart caths, the most recent one 2 month ago and my heart is said to be clean and health but no one can find a cause for this. It may not happen for a month or so or it may happen anytime. I tires me out immensely. I am on a blood thinner, Pradaxa and a baby aspirin. My carotids are clear also. I have though of going to a heart specialty hosp. and have a full workup. any suggestions.

Oncologist 's  Response
Hello,

Skipped Beats. Interestingly, both skipped beats and extra beats or palpitations typically have the same cause: the heart's regular rhythm is interrupted by a premature or early beat. If the premature beat arises from the atria (upper chambers), it is called a premature atrial contraction (PAC).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
