What Causes Persistent High BP While Being On Lisinopril?

My sister is diabetic, she take a shot of Bydureon once per week, she was put on Lisinopril 10mg and was recently diagnoised with 34% kidney function. Her Bp is always high, last night it was 213/90 but it is never under 148. Nothing seems to be working for her, her BS and BP is always high. I have cut out all the salt and fried food and canned food.

HI

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

I need to know what exactly you mean by nothing seems to be working. Apart from Lisinopril any other medication has been tried and has it not worked ?

If BP is not getting controlled with one Drug ( lisinopril ) then a second drug has to be added and dose has to be titrated according to the Blood pressure.

I advise you ask your doctor to start Metoprolol in low dose and gradually escalate the dose so that BP is maintained at or around 140.

Hope this information is useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.
