Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a female, age 65, and I have been experiencing spikes in fevers around 101, with chills, that last 24 to 48 hours, occurring about 2 to 3 weeks apart. The first time was after caring for my twin grandchildren, who came down with the same type of fever and chills of short duration about 2 months ago. One child, age 1 1/2, also had a relapse once about 1 to 2 weeks later, but the other is fine. What could this be? YYYY@YYYY
The fever onset with multiple family members indicate viral or bacterial infection of same origin. Care with hydration, dietary measures, water intake precautions, necessary antibiotics and other supportive care help great.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
