Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello there, I have been having very persistent itching around my anus and have tried using different remedies as suggested in different websites - used coconut oil, use water instead of toilet papers to clean after the toilet, use different kinds of anti fungal and anti bacterial creams but had no success, whatsoever. Finally I decided to use Cloben G and has helped me a lot but at one of your posts, you guys suggested that Cloben G has a very potent steroid, so instead of eliminating all my problems it could be a problem itself. What do you suggest? This anal-itch has been going on for far too long...tried every kind of solutions...any good suggestion would be highly appreciated...thanks im advance...
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Based on your description, it appears that you have tried several things to eliminate itching around the anus. It might not be fungal or bacterial skin infection which is causing you itching. It could be probably due to 'pin worm' infestation. Kindly take Tablet.Albendazole at bedtime as first dose and repeat the dose again (second dose) after a week. Your symptoms should subside completely after eliminating pin worm infestation. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
