What Causes Persistent Light Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Plan B?
Hello, I had sex 7 days ago on the last day of my period. the condom broke and some of his cum got inside of me so we bought plan b. This was the first time I ve taken it, Yesterday I started bleeding a lot it was light pink blood, it s way heavier than my period but I m still bleeding and cramping? Is this from plan b? Im also experiencing pain in my abdomen that are not like period cramps but much worst?
Hi, Welcome to HCM Based on your information, you have taken an emergency contaceptive pill (Plan B). So there is no reason to worry because this hormone pill causes hormone changes in your body that can lead to bleeding at unexpected times. It will go away in few days. Your next period should come within the next month, either on time or a week before or after you would normally expect it. If it doesn’t come within a week after you expect it, you should get a pregnancy test.
Although, I recommend you to see a healthcare provider if this bleeding lasts more than a few days, it is associated to other symptoms (abdominal cramps that you are experiencing get worse) and it starts to get heavier.
Hope this is helpful to you Dr. Ermira Biu
