What Causes Persistent Menstrual Bleeding With Abdominal Cramps?
Hello - I am a 48 year old woman who still gets regular periods, almost like clockwork every 28 days. I am currently still bleeding from my period that started on May 28- this is day 11, and the bleeding is not light. I am also experiencing some cramping, which usually only affects me in the first 3 days of my cycle. I m starting to be a little concerned...should I be?
Hi I think it can be a perimenopausal symptom. But get yourself evaluated by a gynecologist to rule out any cervical pathology or infections. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries to find out the cause of prolonged bleeding. If everything is fine, nothing to worry about. You can take some medicines like tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. Hope it helps.
