What Causes Persistent Neck Pain After Cervical Disc Replacement Surgery?
Hi, My name is Roy. I had neck surgery and C5 was replaced. Now I have pain in the neck and my head is overheating with burning pain. The doctor operated my neck is telling the me that every is normal according to MRI and CT scan. I am very confused and I am on opid and nerve medication (Gapapentin).
Most probably it will be due to neuropathic causes. As the imaging ( CT and MRI) are normal, no further surgical correction is required. You can continue gabapentin for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
