What Causes Persistent Neck Soreness After Hearing A Cracking Sound?

I was doing a roll up exercise on my back with my knees tucked into my mid section and I forgot to tuck my chin into my neck. I went back too far and my neck made a snapping sound. Scared the heck out of me. It s been sore for 1.5 months now and I have a hard timing looking to the left. Early on I felt like I was hung over when I gt up in the morning, I was applying heat to it and now it s been ice.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

May little strain of the ligament or neck muscles spasm may give this problem. Until the examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Apply cold and warm compression, use local pain relieving cream and if symptoms not improved take oral NSAIDs.

Still no improvement please get it done an X-ray of the cervical spine and Consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
