34 year old male. swollen lower leg and foot. fever and pain in lower leg and foot. has had for more than two weeks. Blood tests keep coming back normal, no infection. Been to 8 doctors even a surgeon, no one has any idea what it is. He has a family history of gout, could this be gout?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent pain and swelling in foot . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like arthritis , gout , blocked blood vessels , corn and callus or infection in the joint. I would suggest you to apply ice pack to ankle , take proper rest , tie bandage around foot and ankle and keep your leg elevated while sleeping . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination. Doctor my order CT scan, MRI along with physical examination to rule out any injury . Doctor may prescribe allopurinol , methotrexate along with anti inflammatory or antibiotics . Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist in case of blood vessel blockage . Doctor may also refer you to podiatrist .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
