I have a persistent dull ache in the proximity of my right lateral/posterior 9-10th rib area. It seems too superior and lateral to be kidney, it isn t a sharp pain even when palpated, it doesn t increase with respirations and doe sn t change with eating, just constantly present. I first thought perhaps biliary but fatty foods don t change it and I m not jaundiced. Stools appear normal color. Thank you

What Causes Persistent Pain Around The Rib Cage?
Hi welcome to HCM... Here right hypochondrium pain is present .. So gall stone , enteritis , fatty liver, kidney stone etc like causes has to be ruled out first .... For that USG is investigation of choice ... CRP also has to be done ... If your ribs are tender to touch than it could be costochondritis ... For which brufen is given along with warm compress ... If no significant cause detected than it could be muscular strain pain for which strenous work avoided ... According to cause further treatment can be guided .. Take care Advise : Physician consultation for examination....
