What Causes Persistent Pain At The Back Of The Head?

I ve been having pain in the back of my head on both sides close to my ears. It has a really weird hurt in side my head. Can it be from staining working out, and also cold air makes it hurt, being in the A/C and winters up North. I smoked for many years and I m worried there is something major wrong. These started hurting the past week. Tylenol and advil does not take it away. Can you assist!
