What Causes Persistent Pain Behind The Neck And Ear After A Heart Attack?
I am female, 56 years old & had a heart attack 3 weeks ago. Ever since my heart attack, I have had this pain in my neck, behind my right ear, that has never went away. It also travels up my head in the back and down to my right eye. I am currently getting massages & am now considering going to see a chiropractor. I don t know what else to do. Should I be getting an CAT scan to see if there is something else going on?
The neck pain that goes up to the head and the eye is very likely a muscular pain. You may take paracetamol and ibuprofen to relieve the pain and also seeing a chiropractor or a physiotherapist would be of help.
I do not think a CAT scan is needed at the moment, you need to treat it properly first and if the pain is not better in another 2 weeks or you are any worse, you will need to see your doctor again and decide on further management.
I hope this is helpful. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
