What Causes Persistent Pain Despite A Cervical Surgery?

I have neck pain even after cervical surgery. The last time to see the Dr. he injected the one side that was worst at the time which made a big difference at the moment but before I got out of the bldg the other pain in the opposite side was miserable. I was told that this happens whenone pain is lessoned it only makes the rest worse. Is this true

This is referred to as "unmasking" of pain. Relieving pain in one area does not necessarily make pain in other areas worse - you simply notice the pain more in the untreated areas because the area that was treated has improved.
