My mother is having pain in cheek area in front of tragus since 3 days .....she went to doctor .....doctor prescribed.....combiflame with amoxycillin ..........can plzz explain the cause of pain n effect of action of these medicine .......plzzz reply as soon as possible.....thnaku
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain pain in front of tragus can occur commonly due to causes like any disorder related to jaw joint while can also be due to infection present with parotid gland..
You are advised antibiotics and painkiller that you should make her continue but along with it knowing the exact cause of pain is to be ruled out so that the exact cause can be ruled out and also then only an appropriate treatment can be advised..
As of now continue giving her the medication but along with it give her a soft diet and avoid hard foods.. Avoid excess mouth opening s it can exaggerate pain.. In case if there is associated jaw stiffness also present muscle relaxant can be taken after consulting your physician..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
