Hi,

Complete removal of the pin should be ensured. Any part of pin left behind can cause swelling ,pain and pus collection leading to inflammation. Keep the area clean by washing with antiseptic. In order to prevent infections, apply antibiotic cream like mupirocin or bacitracin. Any pus collection or oozing should be checked for and drainage of abscess should be done along with oral antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
