What Causes Persistent Pain In Hands, Feet And Back Of Knees?

I saw a Walgreens Doctor/nurse today and they gave me a muscle relaxer for a stiff neck. Later today I started having pain in my hands, feet, back of knees and the pain started in one area but stays there while adding a new one. So I need to go to the emergency room? I have no fever.
