General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Since the Barium study has already been done, as well as CT scan of abdomen being normal, it is difficult to say what can really cause such symptoms as you have mentioned.
I would advise you the following:
Complete other investigations like colonoscopy, Tests of stool for 3 consecutive days.
Tests of blood, particularly for CBC. sugar and thyroid functions, liver functions.
Clinical evaluation has already been done and further investigations being done. And other causes also needs consideration:
Functional disorders.
Irritable bowel syndrome.
Intestinal infection like SIBo.
All this can be diagnosed by the following ways:
Tests of stool for three days.
Tests of blood for all organ function including thyroid and so on.
Treatment as per the causes found and if all the tests are normal then to be treated as IBS.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
