What Causes Persistent Pain In The Back Of Chest/lung?

I have had persistent pain in the back of my chest/lung for 2 years.I had an ultrasound of my heart done but it found nothing.I wake up with headaches. I smoked a pack a day for 30 years but quit one year ago. I m 55 years old and have a high pain tolerance but I m scared. What should I ask my doctot to do for me?

Hello

Chest pain need proper evaluation in your age.Your symptoms need proper evaluation.It is important to exclude cardiopulmonary and musculoskeletal causes of pain.
You need clinical correlation and investigations like routine hemogram,random blood sugar,liver function test,renal function test,lipid profile,urine RE/ME,Chest X-ray (PA view),ultrasound of abdomen,ECG in all leads,TMT,ECHO,X-ray D/L spine(AP/Lateral view).
Angiography of coronary vessels can be done if needed.
Proper treatment depend upon findings.
