What Causes Persistent Pain In The Nose?

for the last 2 months, I have had pain in my nose. It is inside and in the lower part of the nose. I use a cpap, and use the humidifier. The pain is accompanied with dry scabe like build-up in the nose. Neosporin and or vicks seem to give short term relief, but the pain remains.

Hi,

As per query you have symptoms of persistent pain in the nose which seems mainly due to allergic rhinitis, anterior ethmoidal nerve neuralgia and could be due to nasal polyp and furuncle.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once for proper examination. Doctor may order certain test like nasal endoscopy and blood test to confirm the diagnosis.

Doctor may prescribe antibiotics medications along with anti inflammatory one and may recommend surgery in case of nasal polyp. As of now you should apply warm compresses to nostril and apply Betnovate ointment.

Maintain complete hygiene and do nasal saline rinses as well. Avoid itching and pricking swab. Hope your concern has been resolved.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
