What Causes Persistent Pain In The Right Abdomen While Treating Umbilical Hernia?

Hi, I have a fatty liver that s 18cms. I also have an umbilical hernia found a year after gall bladder removal. Recently I am having a nagging pressure/pain around my right side. My lab work came back normal for liver enzymes. Could the hernia be inflamed and causing the pain?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

If the hernia is inflamed or infected the pain will be around the hernial sac. Other causes like renal or ureteric stone also be ruled out. Consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
