What Causes Persistent Pain In The Shoulder?

I have this pain in my shoulder that is now becoming more persistent, especially at night when I move my arm. It feels like a muscle or a bone is not moving at the same time as the rest of whatever is in there. It eventually catches up after a few seconds but with pain. Then my should feels sore. This happens several times throughout the night. Does this sound like a bone spur? my email address is YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve in the shoulder.

I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication to treat the pain such as Ibuprofen.

I also suggest maintaining the area immobilised to prevent further damage.

If the pain continues I suggest physical therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
