What Causes Persistent Pain Near Ribs After Falling?

I have been in pain with my stomach up near my ribs, my ribs also hurt.. When I walk, stand up, breathe or when I lay/sit in certain positions it hurts really bad, I ve tried taking paracetamol but nothing is taking the pain away, I ve had it for a month just after I fell down stairs, I got took in hospital had a MRI scan and two X-rays, nothing showed up. But I was wondering If it could be that, doubt it will, just wanting to get an idea of what it could be? Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
If two X rays/ MRI do not show any injury to the rib cage/ organs behind it- the pain can be due to trauma to the ribs in form of superficial boney injury or hair line fracture rib/ soft tissue trauma.
Management consists of -
- Imobilisation of the part by fixing rib cage with sticking plaster ( for 10-15 days)/ pain killers / Vitamin D , calcium supplements.
Please take help of your family physician/ orthopedic surgeon for proper care.
Thanks.
