What Causes Persistent Pain On Left Side Of Chest In Men?

When I move, I have sharp pains under the left side of my breast. This has been going on for nearly 12 hours now. I m a 21 yr old male with a mild case of asthma. Is this precordial catch syndrome? Pericarditis? Or Pulmonary Embolism? It s a scary notion to think that I have PE. Any information?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Sharp pain under the left side of breast can occur due to musculoskeletal disorder, pleural pain, pericardial pain etc.
If the pain is associated with breathing movements, pleural musculoskeletal cause is more likely.
However, clinical assessment and few investigations are required to find the cause of pain.
A X-ray chest and ECG are the basic investigations required to determine the cause of pain in chest.
Thus, I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical assessment, investigations and thus management.

Thanks and take care
