Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Pain Post Multiple Lumbar Spine Surgeries And Fusions?
Hi, I ve had five surgeries on my lumbar spin and one left SI joint fusion due to a work injury. I still have a lot of pai nand my back is still unstable. What are my options? Will another doctor operate if needed and I don t want to go back to the doctor that performed five of the six total surgeries I ve had? My left foot is piointed outward, stinging pain dow both legs, but left worse. Dumbness, pins & needles, stabbing and tingling at various places.
As already 5 surgeries are being performed, an another surgery with similar moribund condition or even deterioration of the issue can be dreadful from this point. In my clinic, after thorough neurologic assessment of the condition, MRI plates evaluation - Conservative management preference with assisted physiotherapy, interventional pain management with epidural analgesia, postural adaptations, weight control is priority - Surgery is last option when all of the above fail
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
