What Causes Persistent Pain With Sinus Infection In Spite Of Taking Medications?

My complaint started with a sinus infection, took a course of Keflex, the last Saturday night(8days) ago my throat started hurting. The pain was incredible and still is! Went to Urgent Care Friday, got Amoxycillin and Motrin for pain. Shouldn t most of the swelling a pain be gone by now? I can t get enough fluid down, unless it s hot. It s weird, every other time cold felt better on my throat, now it hurts it. How long am I to wait before I seek more help?

I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Keflex is superior group of antibiotic than amoxycillin.

I recommend the following.

1) You may need a change to better antibiotic.
2) Analgesics like tablet paracetamol with aceclofinac for pain relief.
3) Salt water gargling. Add a pinch of salt to a glass of warm water.
4) You are feeling better with warm water because it relieves congestion and pain temporarily.

You will be fine.
