What Causes Persistent Pelvic Pain?

I have been having chronic pelvic pain for over a year now, but doctors cannot determine why. I ve had paps done, urine samples, stool samples, blood tests, ultrasounds, had a laparoscopy which came back negative for endometriosis, and recentrly just had a colonoscopy which I m waiting for the results. But every since my Colonoscopy my symptoms have gotten worse, and I am now bleeding vaginally when I shouldn t be. I had my last period on May 23, and started bleeding again on June 8th and have been bleeding ever since.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As there is inter menstrual bleeding, persistent pelvic pain can be from hormone imbalance, chronic cervicitis associated pelvic inflammatory condition most likely. In my clinic, after thorough clinical examination and history, I do recommend a swab test of the vagina for culture report and cervical biopsy (which is not mentioned in your test list) for microbiology evaluation of underlying pathogen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
