What Causes Persistent Prickling Sensation In The Thigh?

For the last three days my right thigh is very sensitive to touch, even my clothes rubbing Against it and I feel it when I walk. I also have a rod and pin in that thigh since 2001. What could this be? I have been rubbing different creams on it and using ice. Seems Like using treadmill makes it worse. Appreciate any advice you could give me. Thank you.
