Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Problem In Swallowing Due To Swollen Adenoids?
My 15 daughter (also is aspergers) was diagnosed after 4 weeks, 2 trips to ER, two ENT, an endocrine, ultrasound of the thyroid, x-rays and 3 trips to the pediatric office. We are now into week 6 and she still is having problems swallowing. She says it feels like a rock in her throat. Her latest trip, last week to the pediatric ENT, put the scope down her nose and says her adenoids were a little swollen. But that s it. Could it be anything else? Takes her an hour to eat anything, even mashed potatoes.
Tonsils gets swollen whenever there is infection in Upper Respiratory Tract. It is common in children. If the swelling is not coming down with medical line of treatment, it needs to be removed surgically. Kindly consult ENT surgeon for further management.
