What Causes Persistent Productive Cough Despite Taking Nexium?
Ive this phlegmy cough from last few years now. Ive been to lung specialist, ENT. IN APRIL, GONE THROUGH septolasty. Now on Nexium for three months, but doesnt find any improvement. Big lumps of phlegm come ot and by that i feel so much relief. Dont cough whole day. I just feel like bit stuffy only in my throat, nothing in my chest. And when i cough and phlegm comes out, i feel just fine. But its embarrasing. I find its worse when i laugh a lot.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent productive cough despite taking Nexium which is impairing your immunity and yes dry cough and productive cough is mainly because of lower respiratory tract infection and it could be due to granular pharyngitis. Need not to worry about it. Apply mist humidifiers in room. Visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. These symptoms normally takes 3 days for to go. If cough is exaggerating go for chest X-ray, blood and sputum test. If it is bacterial infection start with proper course of antibiotics. Till then give crocin 4 hourly. Acetaminophen is also effective and you can give that as well. Take proper rest without any discomfort. Take water after every few mins.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
