What Causes Persistent Productive Cough Despite Taking Antibiotics?

I have a smoker's cough without smoking- basically a flem producing cough. I have had this for over 2 months. I have been in one state half the time and another state the other half, so I don't think it is allergies. My doctor has prescribed, one after another,Singulair, an allergy medicine, and a Z-pak 5-day course. They have all been equally useless. I'm not sure which direction to go in, at this point.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query with HCM.

Before coming to a diagnosis, I would like to know if you have any history of smoking in the past, also your age too, to differentiate if its an obstructive or an allergic cough. Also I would like to know if there are any other symptoms associated with it, like weight loss, fever, wheezing, shortness of breath.
If you do not have any allergic history, i would suppose it to be of a chronic variety. It would be at your best interest if you could get an X ray chest done and to consult with a pulmonologist.

Kindly revert back to us for any further queries.
Thank you
