What Causes Persistent Productive Cough Despite Taking Antibiotics?
I have had a dry cough for awhile now. It started as drainage in the throat, & fever on a Friday, by Tuesday the fever had broke and my cough was productive. My dr gave me a z-pack. By the next week, I am still sick and she gives mne the double D shot & Levequin. That was Friday. My cough is less productive, but still tickling and one side of my throat hurts. but not like a sore throat. just hurts. Not sure what to do. Keep taking my antibiotic & wait it out. Or go back to Dr

As per your query you have symptoms of persistent productive cough despite taking antibiotics which is mainly because of lower respiratory tract infection and it seems infection has become more prominent. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. If symptoms of dry cough is exaggerating you should go for chest X-ray, complete blood count and sputum test. Till then
Apply mist humidifiers in room.
Do warm saline rinses three times a day.
Take proper rest and take water after every few mins.
Take proper course of antibiotics along with anti inflammatory medications after proper prescription.

As per your query you have symptoms of persistent productive cough despite taking antibiotics which is mainly because of lower respiratory tract infection and it seems infection has become more prominent.
