I have had a dry cough for awhile now. It started as drainage in the throat, & fever on a Friday, by Tuesday the fever had broke and my cough was productive. My dr gave me a z-pack. By the next week, I am still sick and she gives mne the double D shot & Levequin. That was Friday. Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent productive cough despite taking antibiotics which is mainly because of lower respiratory tract infection and it seems infection has become more prominent. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. If symptoms of dry cough is exaggerating you should go for chest X-ray, complete blood count and sputum test. Till then

Apply mist humidifiers in room.

Do warm saline rinses three times a day.

Take proper rest and take water after every few mins.

Take proper course of antibiotics along with anti inflammatory medications after proper prescription.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
