What Causes Persistent Radiating Pain From Foot To Ankle?
Hi i have pain on outter side of my foot but there is no swelling just a wee bruise i can see on bottom of my foot. Pain is quite sharp on side of foot going around my ankle with ease walking on tiptoes. I have to for a week now but not getting any better.
Because of the presence of the bruise and the pain very likely you have hurt your foot and this is the reason for the pain. Sometimes patients don't remember the episode that causes it as it might have been short and not major to take their attention but later the muscle fibers or the tendon that was stretched develop swelling and get more painful.
I would recommend you to put a bandage around the ankle to help with better support and use of local compresses to help with the pain and some oral paracetamol and ibuprofen as well.
It might take weeks for a muscle or tendon to heal depending on the severity but if you don't notice any improvement in a week or you notice any worsening would be safer to see a doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
