HI, I M 47 YRS OLD, FEMALE, NO HISTORY OF HYPERTENSION YET. BUT RECENTLY WHEN I TOOK MY BP IT WAS 130/90, WHEN THE NURSE TOOK MY BP AGAIN FOR THE 2ND TIME IT BECAME 150/90, I THINK THIS TRIGGERED DUE TO MY NERVOUSNESS. THAT S WHY WHENEVER I ATTEMPT TO HAVE MY BP TAKEN AGAIN I M VERY TENSED AND NERVOUS THAT S WHY IT REACHED 160/90, IS THAT NORMAL?

Hello

Yes this is a normal reaction due to the stress.Do not worry so much but however you should measure the pressure for two weeks and than discuss with your doctor.

Regards

Dr Jolanda
