What Causes Persistent Severe Back Pain?

Hello, over the past few nights (4) I am waking up to severe back pain in the middle of my back. By middle I mean not lower or shoulder/neck area, on both sides. It wakes me up early in the morning. Once i get up and walk and move the pain goes away within 10-15 min, i can mend over a touch my toes to speed up the process. If i lay back down the pain comes back. I sleep on my side. I do not feel ANY pain during the day. I have slept in multiple beds throughout the house and that does not help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it is due to spine related problems like prolapsed disc or nerve compression.

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
