Hi Dr.Ryne,My husband is a 48 year old, white male and had a cerebral hemorragic stroke, while skiing in 08. He suffered almost no external physical damage but took about a year for his normal reasoning and judgment faculties to return. We got very, very lucky. However, since 08 he complains of bad headaches (migraine-like), fluttering sensation in his head, temporal pressure and headaches behind his eyeballs. He is currently taking .5 mg of Losartin, .5 mg of Metorprolol and 1 mg of Alprazolam daily, the former two for high blood pressure and the latter for anxiety. Recently his headaches seem to be more pronounced and I worry that these symptoms are warning signs that another stroke is imminent and/or something more serious. This said, it isn t an emergency now and believe we do not need to go to the hospital but wondering if you can give us any insight into these symptoms.Thank you, Sue and Rich B.
