Hi.. I have had a annoying sore throat the past few weeks. Went to doctor put me on a amoxacillin 500 for ten days went away. Then came back the last week and a half.. I am on omeprazole for Gerd I m 26 male smoker work construction could it be silent reflux. ..

Hi & Welcome to HCM.

I can understand your problem of persistent sore throat.

It appears to be due to reflux of acidic stomach contents into the food pipe and throat.

Continue taking Omeprazole for at least 4-6 weeks.
You may take Domperidone once daily along with Omeprazole
Avoid smoking and taking hot and spicy foods particular at night
Do not sleep immediately after have meals, sleep at least 2-3 hours after having foods.
Raise the head end of your bed to 45 degree.

An ENT consultation is recommended to rule out other causes of persistent sore throat.
