What Causes Persistent Soreness In The Left Hip After A Roller-coaster Ride?

Since riding roller coaster in August, my left hip hurts a lot when I get up from sitting for a while (especially from driving). Also hurts a lot after physical activity (jogging, dancing, etc.) After walking a little while after getting up, pain subsides. Pain is mostly gone as I am sitting, only hurts when I get up. Has been going on for over 2 months now, does not seem to be getting better. No visible bruising or swelling at all. Don t want to be overly dramatic, but should I see a doctor and what should I ask to do?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It looks like stress or sprain in the ligaments, soft tissues, tendons, muscles of the upper thigh and left hip area has got inflamed & hence you get soreness. You can take Tylenol or Ibuprofen when pain. Use anti-inflammatory ointments or sprays like Volini for relieve from pain. Give yourself a little rest while you use these medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.
