Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Persistent Stabbing Pain At The Back Of Knee?
How does a DVT present itself. I just had an acupuncture treatment, and although no needles were near the back of my right knee, I suddenly felt a stabbing pain when I stood up. Sat back down and rubbed it a bit....got home, had supper, and while walking down the hall, that stabbing pain came back.
I have gone through your query, i will try to give you suggestion which will be helpful to you. Dvt usually occurs in chronic smokers, in pregnancy or major surgery, obesity etc or in patients with prolonged bed rest .It presents with pain, swelling and redness of the affected area initially and suddenly they may present with shortness of breath because of pulmonary embolism. This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.
I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. I will be glad to help you in case if you have any further queries.
Wish you speedy recovery. Take care.
