What Causes Persistent Stomach Pain And Vomiting?

I have been suffering from stomach pains - my stomach hurts ALL THE TIME and I am regular at vomiting. The pain gets so bad that I can t get out of bed sometimes. I use to drink white rum A LOT but I stopped drinking it now and do tend to drink every now and then. I also only have one kidney which is to the front rather than the back..What is my diagnosis and are you able to tell me the long term disadvantages of drinking alcohol? Really appreciate it..thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
As you mentioned that you are having one kidney , yes ,that is nothing to do this stomach pain and recurrent vomiting.
These symptoms are due to excessive use of alcohol . Certain irritant substance causes eroding of gastric layer of stomach , this produces hyper acidity hence pain and vomiting.
These measures may be useful for you .
Try raising the head of your bed about 4 inches with blocks. It might also help to avoid eating or drinking for 3 hours before you lie down. To help control stomach acid , one should NOT DRINK ALCOHOL or drinks with caffeine in them or spicy or greasy food or eat chocolate or pizza or burger.
Also take some antacid but if symptoms are severe ( vomiting and pain ) , you may need drugs like pantoprazole-d once or twice in day ( normal dose is once in a day ) .
In such cases I advise " REBAMIPIDE " 100 mg 2-2-2 for 3-6 months .This is a prescription drug so consult your doctor and get his help .
But ALCOHOL is not good for you.
I find this answer helpful
