What Causes Persistent Swelling In Neck Along With Pain?

I am experiencing pain in the front of my neck on the left side. I feels very tight...like something is swollen. I can swallow and breathe ok. It started intermittent and now how increased for the last few days. I had ultrasound on thyroid..nodules on both sides..benign. Had a sinus infection in May with swollen glands..the glands are still a little swollen! I can only take Tylenol..I am on Coumidin for antiphosphalipid syndrome. I am also a diabetic. Could it be a hidden dental infection going down my neck...( I have recently been to the dentist)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to tonsillitis. For that you may require complete hemogram, throat swab after ENT consultation. You may require antibiotics after consultation. Continue saline or betadine gargles twice a day. Take hygienic food and water. Maintain proper hygiene.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
